Product Description
Tooling Board, Hollow Glass Bubble, HN32HS, Artificial Stone, Thermoplastic
Hollow Glass Bubble Description
Hollow glass bubbles have very low thermal conductivity due to their air-filled structure, which is a poor conductor of heat. When added to tooling board, the bubbles create a network of air pockets that reduces the amount of solid material available for heat transfer, significantly reducing thermal conductivity.
The reduction in thermal conductivity depends on bubble size and volume fraction in the tooling board. Generally, larger bubbles and higher volume fractions yield greater reductions.
Applications
- Pattern making: Used in tooling board patterns for casting and molding processes as templates for creating molds.
- Fixtures and jigs: Reduces weight and improves stiffness of tooling board for more accurate manufacturing fixtures.
- Composite layup tooling: Enhances accuracy and consistency of final composite parts through low weight and high stiffness.
